May 2004 Will had the vision of a neighborhood joint that he would've enjoyed as a kid growing up on the East Coast - sitting at the slice counter with a fountain Coke, slice of cheese, and a staff full of friendly faces. Most in the neighborhood would agree that this is exactly what Will and Karen created. GIOIA Berkeley has grown up with the kids of Hopkins Street. Just as they grow and change, as does the shop. A menu change here, a facelift there; but some staples that never change (the house made cannoli, strawberry lemonade and funghi pie just to name a few!) We've created a delicious menu with the most amazing local produce and highest quality ingredients. We never cut corners. It's all honestly delicious!
